The present invention relates to an image interpolation method using self degradation restoration. More specifically, the present invention relates to an image interpolation method using self degradation restoration in which information of pixel values of new pixels created according to the expansion of an image is more accurately estimated through a self-deterioration restoration scheme, thereby minimizing the quality degradation resulting from the expansion of the image so that the quality of the final output image can be improved. According to the present invention, the method includes: a first step of inputting an acquired image; a second step of creating a restored image by performing up-sampling for a deteriorated image after down-sampling for the acquired image; a third step of creating a pair of estimation loss images using one pair of differential images acquired from the difference in a pixel value between the restored images and the acquired image; and a fourth step of performing an ADD operation for an interpolation image acquired by applying a second interpolation function for the acquired image and one pair of the estimation loss images in relation to the pixel value.
