摘要 <p>The invention refers to a production process of porous spherical vitro-ceramic particles resulting from blast furnace slag by the application of a thermal process via O2-natural gas flame. The application of the process via flame allows said industrial byproducts to be transformed in a microstructural and morphological manner, generating porous spherical vitro-ceramic particles, which present Gehlenita (Ca2Al2SiO7) as the only crystalline phase within an amorphous matrix. The porous spherical vitro-ceramic spheres are used in different applications, for example, as lightening material in compact light mortar systems with thermal and acoustic insulation properties.</p>
