<p>The explosive compsn., which contains no molecular explosives, is insensitive to shock, impact and fire, water repellant and can be initiated by detonator only, offers a high level of safety during mfr. and use in proximity to detonation conditions. It consists of an intimate mixt. of 5-20% mixed alkali and alkaline earth nitrates, 0.5-5% surfactant, emulsifier and stabiliser mixt. and 0.5-5% finely-divided solids. The components are suitably measured out and mixed to a semi-liquid aq. paste, gelled and consequently free from crystallisation.</p> |
