The invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to the method of ultrasonic and non-abrasive surface machining. The method allows to reduce the degree of roughness, the friction coefficients and may be used in the automobile and tractor engineering, instrument engineering and other fields of science and technique for improving the surface quality of articles and machinery. The method for finishing of articles includes rolling of an article surface by a tool together with the simultaneous ultrasonic exposure. The method is characterized by that, prior to rolling, the surface of an article is demagnetized by applying to it of a damped varying magnetic field. The initial gradient of magnetic field induction nearby the finished surface is not less than 50 mT. Preferably, the magnetic field has the pulsing nature with the controlled exposure frequency. The time of the exposure to the magnetic field is not less than 0.5 min. |
