<p>The spring (10) has a connection structure comprising a portion (11) formed from a carrier material. The portion is partially covered by a portion (12), which is formed of diamond. The carrier material is a metalloid such as carbon, crystalline silicon or germanium, and a surface of the portion (11) is stripped from a silicon oxide layer. The carrier material has an expansion co-efficient similar to the diamond. The portion (11) is arranged in a core of the portion (12) which has a layer formed of polycrystalline diamond with thickness of greater than 10 micrometers. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabrication of a barrel-extension spring.</p> |
