Provided is a diagnostic apparatus for a power switch assembly that provides power to coils in a reactor rod control system. The diagnostic apparatus is provided to diagnose the power switch assembly comprising a rectifier circuit consisting of multiple power elements (SCR) and diodes to rectify an AC voltage to a DC voltage, a protective circuit consisting of multiple passive elements and diodes to prevent a transient voltage and a counter electromotive force from being applied to a coil installed on a reactor rod, and an insulating film. The diagnosis apparatus for the power switch assembly comprises a first measurement unit which measures capacities (hereinafter referred as a first parameter) of a resistor and a capacitor constituting the passive elements, a second measurement unit which measures insulation resistance, forward and reverse resistance, leakage and sustained currents (hereinafter referred as a second parameter) of the power elements, a third measurement unit which measures forward and reverse characteristics (hereinafter referred as a third parameter) of the diodes, and a diagnosis unit which determines whether internal elements in the power switch assembly have an error, using at least one among the parameters measured by the first to third measurement units. |
