Provided are a short-circuit detection method of an ink box chip, a chip, an ink box and a recording device. The ink box chip (2) comprises a circuit board (201). The circuit board is provided with at least two connecting terminals, detecting terminals (301) arranged adjacent to and at a given distance from the connecting terminals, a short-circuit detection part (302) electrically connected with the detecting terminal and/or the connecting terminal, and a short-circuit control part connected with the short-circuit detection part. The short-circuit detection part is used for determining whether short-circuit phenomenon occurs between the detecting terminal and the connecting terminal according to the change of an electrical signal on the detection terminal and/or the connecting terminal. The short-circuit control part is used for executing a short-circuit abnormity process when short-circuit is detected. At the initial stage of the ink box installation into the recording device, short-circuit phenomenon may be detected initiatively from the ink box chip side. This possibility can be reduced that electrical components on the ink box have been damaged when short-circuit is detected by the recording device, and security coefficient of the ink box usage is increased for the recording device which is not provided with the short-circuit detection circuit. |
