TWO WAY RELEASE HERMAPHRODITIC CONNECTORS

A hermaphroditic electrical connector comprising of a pair of identical sub-assemblies, each sub-assembly having a housing and a plurality of electrical contacts. The two sub-assemblies are arranged in upside down and opposite direction with a plurality of electrical contacts of one sub-assembly joined to a plurality of electrical contacts of another opposed sub-assembly. The first housing and second and opposed housing have a two way locking/release device at two opposite sides. The first housing and second and opposed housing can be separated from each other by a single handed operation on the first two way locking/release device of the first housing and on the second two way locking/release device of the second and opposed housing. The first housing and second housing can be separated from either end using two way locking/release device at either end of the hermaphroditic electrical connector
