PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container for a beverage, into which a drinking straw can be inserted and also the drinking straw is hardly dropped.SOLUTION: In a paper container for a beverage, a detachable piece is formed a surface of a predetermined wall portion by half cutting and a drinking straw insertion portion 25 is formed by the half cutting on the reverse side of the wall portion so as to fit within a region of the detachable piece. The drinking straw insertion portion 25 includes a plurality of flexible pieces 29 arranged in a symmetrical shape or in an approximately symmetrical shape with respect to the center of the drinking straw insertion portion 25. The half cutting of the reverse side is constituted of: a first straight line; a second straight line arranged so as not to be connected to the first straight line; and a third straight line positioned on an extension line of the second straight line across the first straight line. The third straight line is arranged so as not to be connected to the first straight line and the second straight line.
