An inspection station (150) is sequentially aligned with the flanging station (112) and has a camera (200) for capturing a plurality of images about a circumference of the metallic beverage container as the metallic beverage container completes one full rotation about a generally vertical axis during a dwell period. A plurality of transfer wheels (119-134) are sequentially aligned with the plurality of necking stations, the flanging station, and the inspection station. The transfer wheels sequentially transfer the metallic beverage container between each of the plurality of necking stations, the flanging station, and the inspection station.
