<p>The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for encoding/decoding an image using an arbitrary pixel in a subblock. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises an arbitrary pixel extracting unit; a first predicting unit; a first subtracting unit; a first converting unit; a first quantizing unit; a first inverse quantizing unit; a first inverse converting unit; a first adding unit; a second predicting unit; a second subtracting unit; an arbitrary residual pixel combining unit; a second converting unit; a second quantizing unit; and an encoding unit. The apparatus extracts an arbitrary pixel from respective subblocks of a current macroblock, encodes the arbitrary pixel, decodes the encoded result to reconstruct the arbitrary pixel, predict the other pixels of the respective subblocks by using the reconstructed arbitrary pixel, and encodes the other pixels. According to the present invention, while encoding and decoding images, a pixel prediction accuracy during an intra-prediction of pixels in a block to be encoded or decoded is improved, such that encoding efficiency is enhanced.</p> |
