<p>The present invention relates to a calcium sulphate-based product comprising gypsum and a clay additive. The clay additive, which may be a kaolinitic clay, is provided in an amount greater than 22 wt%. The product is formed by drying an aqueous slurry containing calcined gypsum and greater than 25wt% clay additive. The product (e.g. a gypsum wallboard) exhibits improved resistance to shrinkage and increased strength after heat exposure.</p> |
