A permanent magnet-type rotating machine comprising: a rotor 24 which has permanent magnets 30 disposed thereon; a stator 40 which has electromagnets 48 disposed thereon; a positional information acquisition unit 60 that acquires positional information of permanent magnets 30; and an electromagnet controller 92 that turns on/off the electromagnets 48 based on the positional information, the electromagnet 48 includes a first electromagnetic coil 52 that excites the magnetic pole of the core 50 that faces the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 30 to a polarity opposite to a polarity of the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 30 and a second electromagnetic coil 54, that excites the magnetic pole of the core 50 that faces the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 30 to the same polarity as a polarity of the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 30, the first electromagnetic coil 52 and the second electromagnetic coil 54 are coaxially arranged, the electromagnet controller 92 turns on the second electromagnetic coil 54 in a period of time from turning on to turning off of the first electromagnetic coil 52 and turns on the first electromagnetic coil 52 before residual magnetism in the core 50 by the second electromagnetic coil 54 becomes zero after the second electromagnetic coil 54 is turned off, based on the positional information. |
