PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop device capable of being installed in a short period with a simple installation process and sufficiently preventing an inundation. SOLUTION: A water stop device comprises support means 10A (10B) installed on at least one wall surface W1 (W2) and a cut-off door 20A (20B) swingably supported by the support means 10A. The support means has a spindle 12 and a support section to support in a manner that keeps a load of the cut-off door 20A from transferring to a floor surface F. The cut-off door 20A is supported by the support section when in a first position along the wall surface W1 and, when swung to a second position to seal a gateway, the door is detached from a region to be supported by the support section and seals the gateway in a state shifted lower than the first position.
