1. A phase change ink comprising:
an amorphous compound, wherein the amorphous compound comprises a first ester of tartaric acid of the formulawherein each of R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 is independently selected from an alkyl group, wherein the alkyl is straight, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted, having from about 1 to about 40 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic or heteroaromatic group;
a crystalline compound, wherein the crystalline compound comprises a second ester of tartaric acid of the formulawherein each of R6 and R7 is independently selected from an aryl or a heteroaryl optionally substituted with a lower alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a combination thereof, and wherein each n is independently selected from an integer from 0 to 3;
an optional colorant; an optional synergist; an optional dispersant; and at least one polyhydroxyalkanoate compound of the formula wherein R is independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, a heteroatom, and combinations thereof; wherein n represents the number of repeating units of from 1 to about 35,000; and wherein x represents an integer from 1 to about 5. |
