A valve is provided with an adjustable throttle through which passes a valve closure stem in sealing contact, by means of a stuffing box, with a throttle control member, whereby rotary adjustment of the throttle is effected and which is removable without disturbing the throttle setting. A cylindrical throttle member 9 is cut away at one side so that the crosssectional area 12 presented to fluid passing the closure 21 between inlet 2 and outlet 3 may be varied upon rotation of throttle control member 16, affixed thereto by screws 18. The closure 21 is vertically displaceable on to a seat 4 against spring 23 by means not shown and the upper stem portion 24 is removable with the throttle control member 16 and sealed thereto by a stuffing box 17. A sealing disc 15, between throttle 9 and control member 16 carries a scale, whereby the position of the throttle 9 can be set against a member 27 on a collar 5 to which may be affixed a cover 7.</p> |
