METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTHENTICATING BIOMETRIC BY USING FACE RECOGNIZING

The present invention relates to a method for authenticating a biometric feature using face recognition and a device thereof. A provided method for authenticating a biometric feature using face recognition includes: a step of detecting a facial area of subject through analysis on an image obtained by photographing the subject; a step of processing biometric feature authentication according to a result compared with a preregistered biometric feature when the facial area is detected; a step of comparing a characteristic value which shows a status of hardware varied with load change for image analysis and biometric feature authentication with a preset reference value; and a step of controlling a display time of output window which shows a result of the biometric feature authentication according to the result compared between the characteristic value and reference value, and controlling a characteristic value due to the load change by varying an idle period of the analysis and biometric feature authentication for the image within the display time. Therefore, the deterioration of usability cannot be felt by varying the idle period of processing for the analysis and authentication of the image while keeping the result hidden by controlling the display time of output window which shows the result of the biometric feature authentication according to the state of the hardware due to the load change for the analysis and biometric feature authentication for the subject.
