[Class 6 (i)] In an implement comprising a tool-carrying frame connected to a two - wheeled or other tractor, the tool frame is designed to carryadjustable and inter-changeable tools for cultivating one row of plants only or for simultaneously cultivating more rows than one. The tractor frame is mounted on driven wheels 5 and comprises side bars 1 to which are attached upwardly inclined extensions 6, 7 on which handle-bars 9, 15 are pivoted. These handlebars are connected to a pivoted arm 28 which is connected to an arm 72 on a yoke brace 70 on the tool frame, so that steering may be effected by upward and downward movements of the handle-bars 9, 15. The front end of the tool frame is supported by bars 44, 45 pivoted on the tractor frame 1 and adapted to be raised and lowered by a lever 51. The forward ends of the side bars 40, 41 of the tool frame are adjustably held in place on studs on a yoke 60 by a movable latch member, the yoke 60 being provided with a king bolt 68 pivoted on a traverse part of the bar 44. The bars 40, 41 are bent as shown and are supported on adjustable wheels 80. Groundworking tools 86 are bolted to standards adjustably clamped on the bars 40, 41. The implement is adapted for cultivating three rows at a time by bolting bent inclined bars 90 to the bars 40, 41 and providing three pairs of tools T, T<1>, T<11> as shown. For cultivating one row the tools T<1>, T<11> and the bars 90 are removed and other tools and the wheels 80 mounted on the outwardly inclined parts 40<1>, 41<1> of the frame bars 40, 41. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes the details of the means for connecting the lever 51 and the tool frame with the bars 44, 45 and the means for mounting the handle-bars 9, 15 and connecting them with the arm 28. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
