<p>The present invention relates to a cooperative communications system using hierarchical modulation, and a communications method of the same. According to the present invention, the cooperative communications system using hierarchical modulation comprises: a first Reed-Solomon encoding part that performs Reed-Solomon encoding for data to be transmitted, and performs shortened Reed-Solomon encoding for predetermined important data among the data to be transmitted; a first hierarchical modulation part that performs hierarchical modulation so that the Reed-Solomon-encoded important data and parity bits of the important data are mapped onto a high priority (HP) region, and the remaining data and overall parity bits are mapped onto a low priority (LP) region; and a first transmission part that transmits the hierarchically modulated data to a relay terminal and a reception terminal. The present invention can satisfy a minimum service at a reception terminal when a communications channel environment is poor, and can transmit a large amount of data when the communications channel environment is excellent depending on the error correction capability of a Reed-Solomon decoding part.</p> |
