PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional communication system which allows a user to check information regarding a vehicle from the exterior of the vehicle and reduces electrical power consumption of a portable machine used as an electronic key.SOLUTION: A bidirectional communication system 1 includes: an on-vehicle device 10 mounted on a vehicle; a first portable machine 20 which enables two-way communication and mutual authentication with the on-vehicle device 10; and a second portable machine 30 which enables two-way communication and mutual authentication with the first portable machine 20. The second portable machine 30 includes calculation means and display means. The on-vehicle device 10 transmits first information regarding the vehicle to the first portable machine 20 when a first predetermined operation is performed to the vehicle. The first portable machine 20 transmits the first information to the second portable machine 30 when receiving the first information. The second portable machine 30 causes the calculation means to calculate second information relating to the first information and causes the display means to display the calculated second information when a second predetermined operation is performed to the first portable machine 20 or the second portable machine 30. |
