<p>Provided are a beam forming method, and a method and device for determining an initial beam index set, which relate to the field of wireless communications. The beam forming method is applied to a system comprising at least one second-type communication node, and the beam forming method comprises: sending an original beam; receiving an initial beam index set determined by the second-type communication node according to the original beam; and according to the initial beam index set, determining a target beam used for sending data. A beam is selected by the cooperation between a first-type communication node and a second-type communication node, the accuracy of selecting a beam is improved while the feedback amount of the beam is reduced, the performance of a wireless communication system is improved, and the coverage range of the system is increased.
