For the production of a bottle crown cap (1) it is stamped from a metal sheet. A peripheral wall (3) is shaped at the base (2) with a toothed structure (5) and a seal (10) is fitted. The seal is attached to the metal sheet before stamping and is positioned to extend into the toothed structure. The seal is taken from a multi-layer sealing film.
