METHOD FOR PURIFYING HYDROGEN CHLORIDE

Provided are: a method that is for purifying hydrogen chloride, that can sufficiently purify hydrogen chloride, and can highly efficiently eliminate fluorine compounds such as hydrogen fluoride from crude reaction gas obtained by reacting hydrogen fluoride and chloroform; and purified aqueous hydrochloric acid. The method for purifying hydrogen chloride has: a condensation step for causing the condensation by means of a condenser (12) of R-22 gas in crude reaction gas (A) obtained by reacting hydrogen fluoride and chloroform, thus obtaining a condensate (B), which contains R-22, and crude hydrogen chloride gas (C), which contains hydrogen chloride gas; a gas-liquid separation step for performing gas-liquid separation of the crude hydrogen chloride gas (C) and the condensate (B) in a distillation column (14); a defluorination step for purifying the hydrogen chloride gas (D) by adsorbing/eliminating fluorine compounds in the crude hydrogen chloride gas (C) by means of an adsorption agent in a defluorination column (18); and an absorption step for absorbing hydrogen chloride in the hydrogen chloride gas (D) into absorption water (E) in an absorption column (22). The method produces aqueous hydrochloric acid purified from the obtained hydrogen chloride.
