PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal apparatus capable of reliably performing mute processing on transmission voice to be transmitted to the other terminal in a video conference communication with the other terminal connected via a network by an intuitive operation.SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 11a detects acceleration in three axial direction perpendicular to a portable terminal apparatus 10. A microphone 12 picks up conversation voices around the portable terminal apparatus 10 in a conversation with the other terminal 50 in a video conference. A terminal state determination section 21 determines the state of the portable terminal apparatus 10 on the basis of the detection values of the acceleration in the three directions of the acceleration sensor 11a. A conversation mute processing section 22 performs mute processing on voice signals of the conversation voices picked up by the microphone 12 when the portable terminal apparatus 10 is placed in a specific state.
