PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the energy efficiency of a vehicle having an EHC (electric heating catalyst).SOLUTION: Catalyst warmup control when rotation is lowered is performed in a period in which an engine rotation speed is lowered by fuel cut for stopping the fuel injection of an engine 11, in a period in which the engine rotation speed is lowered by an automatic stop of the engine 11 by idle stop control, and in a period in which the engine rotation speed is lowered by a gear change (for example, shift-up) of a change gear 12. By the catalyst warmup control when the rotation is lowered, in a period of the lowering of the rotation, a generator 17 is driven by power of the engine 11 to generate electricity by the generator 17, the generated power of the generator 17 is fed to an EHC 20, and the EHC 20 is energized and heated. By this constitution, motion energy when the engine rotation speed is lowered, is converted into electric energy by the generator 17, and the EHC 20 can be energized and heated, thus effectively utilizing the motion energy when the engine rotation speed is lowered. |
