Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and a system for video surveillance content adaptation, as well as a central server and a device, all of which relate to the field of multimedia communication. The method comprises: a surveillance front-end terminal receives, via a central server, capability parameter information of a surveillance client terminal, said front-end terminal adjusts surveillance video parameters in accordance with said capability parameter information, and then outputs post-parameter-adjustment surveillance video to said client terminal. Embodiments of the present invention also disclose a video surveillance front-end device, a central server, and a video surveillance content adaptation system. The present application allows outputted video to be played back at the client terminal, thereby achieving optimal results. |
