PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete column excelling in durability that can remarkably suppress the progress of corrosion deterioration of steel members and breakage of the steel members, even if the concrete column is cracked beyond design assumption and the steel members are exposed to such a condition that rainwater infiltrates through cracks. SOLUTION: The concrete column excelling in durability is manufactured by centrifugal molding after arranging tension steel members to have a covering thickness t of 15-35 mm. A hardness difference HV<SB>d</SB>obtained from the difference (HV<SB>c</SB>-HV<SB>f</SB>) between a center hardness HV<SB>c</SB>which is the average hardness of a center part C of the tension steel member and a surface layer hardness HV<SB>f</SB>which is the hardness near a surface layer A, is 80-200 in Vickers hardness, and a softening layer thickness d<SB>w</SB>specified by the distance from a softening start position B in which the hardness of the tension steel member becomes softening start hardness HVs, to the surface layer is 250-1,000μm.
