PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having adequate cracking resistance even in a liquid development system and also having good electrical properties and high durability. SOLUTION: A polyester resin containing a repeating structure represented by formula (1) is incorporated into a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, wherein Ar<SP>1</SP>-Ar<SP>4</SP>each independently represent arylene which may have a substituent, and X<SP>1</SP>represents a single bond or a divalent group.
