Method for managing the speed of a hybrid vehicle comprising: - an electric motor (3), - a combustion engine (4), and - a clutch system (7) selectively coupling at least the electric motor (3) to driven wheels (2) of the vehicle, in which method: - absence of a demand to accelerate the vehicle is detected, and - using only the electric motor (3), the speed of the vehicle is maintained about at least one given setpoint value.
