PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition for ballpoint pens which controls the corrosion of the balls over time without causing such problem that an anticorrosive deposits after a long period of time impairing the anticorrosion effect and retains an excellent writing performance for a long period of time, and a ballpoint pen filled with the composition. SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition for ballpoint pens includes a colorant, water, andε-polylysine. Theε-polylysine is added in an amount in the range of 0.01-5 wt.% of the total amount of the ink composition.
