Disclosed are a method for channel sounding in a wireless local area network system and an apparatus for performing the same. An access point performing a channel sounding method can broadcast a beacon including restricted access window information for channel sounding and can transmit null data packets (NDPs) for channel estimating within the restricted window to a station. The station can estimate channel information based on the NDPs and can transmit the estimated channel information to the access point.
