An electronic device includes a projection unit and a detection unit. The projection unit is configured to project light in a projection region on a projection surface. The detection unit is disposed away from the projection unit. The detection unit includes a photodetector and a notification light emitter. The photodetector is configured to detect reflected light of the light from the projection unit within a detection region. The notification light emitter is configured to emit to the projection surface notification light for setting a position of the projection region within the detection region of the photodetector.

1. An electronic device comprising:
a photodetector that detects reflected light of light from a projection unit within a detection region, the projection unit projecting the light in a projection region on a projection surface; and a notification light emitter that emits on the projection surface two notification lines of visible wavelength that indicate a reference of a position of the projection region on the projection surface and have a spacing therebetween that decreases towards the photodetector for setting the position of the projection region within the detection region of the photodetector, the photodetector being arranged to set at least one of edges of the projection region that is closest to the photodetector among the edges of the projection region within the detection region of the photodetector.
