<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistoried building which enables access to a pipe space (PS) without passage through a dwelling unit, and which enables a ceiling height to be set great with a high degree of space utilization efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In this multistoried building 1, the plurality of dwelling units 2, and a common corridor 3 facing the respective dwelling units 2 are installed on each story. The multistoried building 1 includes the pipe space 15 for installing a drain standpipe 27, through which wastewater from the upper story flowing down, and a meter box 14 facing the common corridor 3. The pipe spaces 15 are arranged adjacently to each other in positions to get into the dwelling unit 2 with respect to the meter box 14; and the meter box 14 also serves as a passage leading to the pipe space 15 from the common corridor 3.
