1. A ripper shank protector, comprising:
a first side; a second side; a center face extending between the first side and the second side, an edge defined by the first side and the center face; a first protector mount in an upper half of the first side; a second protector mount in a lower half of the first side, the second protector mount including an open-ended slot configured to be lowered onto a first mounting projection extending from a ripper shank; and a mounting cavity defined by the first side, the second side, and the center face, wherein the open-ended slot includes two side surfaces extending between an inner end and an open end, and the ripper shank protector is configured such that a line parallel to the edge in the lower half of the first side extends through the two side surfaces, wherein the mounting cavity is configured to receive a portion of the ripper shank as the open-ended slot is lowered onto the mounting projection, and wherein the first protector mount is configured to be secured to an upper portion of the ripper shank while the mounting projection is in the open-ended slot.
