<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor capable of detecting occurrence of shrinkage in a handrail belt, at an early stage.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor comprises: multiple steps moving by circulation movement in a main frame 11; a pair of handrails standing on both sides of the steps; a handrail belt 17 provided on the handrail and moving around the handrail in synchronous to circulation movement of the steps; a handrail drive device for driving the handrail belt 17; a contact body 54 pressing the handrail belt 17 downward and applying tension to the handrail belt 17; an energization part 56 for energizing the contact body 54 downward; and a detection part 58 for detecting upward movement of the contact body 54.</p> |
