PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of demodulating an amplitude modulated (AM) signal.SOLUTION: The method comprises receiving the AM signal in an analogue domain and generating a digital representation of the AM signal; and also comprises, in the digital domain: multiplying the digital representation with one or more digitally generated local oscillator signals to produce a first signal I and a second signal Q that is substantially 90 degrees out of phase from the first signal; and processing the first signal and the second signal to demodulate the received AM signal. |
