PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an escalator footstep in which the fact that footsteps are fixed in a step shaft and is not loosened can be easily confirmed from an upper surface of a footboard.SOLUTION: An escalator footstep is configured such that footsteps are fixed to a step shaft 4 by inserting a clamping jig 15 through a through-hole 8 from an upper surface of a footboard 5 and rotating a clamping bolt 14 in a clamping direction. The escalator footstep includes: a transparent confirmation window 16 provided on an upper surface of the footboard; a guide tube 17 provided at a lower surface of the confirmation window and with the other end opened; a rod-shaped body 19 with a portion inserted in the guide tube and a remainder exposed outside the guide tube, and constituted of a seal-filled bag having flexibility and the elasticity; a plurality of spherical display bodies 20 inserted in the guide tube; and a pressing tool 22 for crushing an exposed part of the rod-shaped body by sandwiching it between a horizontal projection of a fixing/holding part and itself. When the pressing tool crushes the exposed part of the rod-shaped body in the mounting of the footstep, a portion of the rod-shaped member in the guide tube is extended and presses the spherical display body against the inner face of the transparent confirmation window. |
