摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having high overcharge gas generation efficiency during overcharge, and a method for manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that includes the positive electrode active material.SOLUTION: A method for producing a positive electrode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention includes a step of bringing at least a part of a surface of an active material 32 in a state before being fixed to a positive electrode collector into contact with a phosphoric acid. The method further includes a step of heating the active material 32 together with the phosphoric acid after the contacting step. The heating step is performed at a temperature of 200-400°C. In the step of the contacting step, the whole of the surface of the particulate active material 32 is brought into contact with the phosphoric acid.
