PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hyaluronic acid production promoter having excellent hyaluronic acid production promoting action on skin; and a method of promoting hyaluronic acid production by skin using the hyaluronic acid production promoter.SOLUTION: An ascorbic acid derivative represented by the general formula (1) is used. (In the formula, R1 and R2 may be identical or different and each represent a C1-C22 linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon group, a glyceryl group, an alkyl glyceryl group or a hydrogen atom, but R1 and R2 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time.) |
