The method comprises: a first device sending a synchronization signal, wherein the synchronization signal carries configuration information about a discovery signal to be sent by the first device; and the first device sending the discovery signal based on the configuration information about the discovery signal. A transmission method for a device-to-device discovery signal and a user equipment separate a synchronization signal from the discovery signal, thereby being able to improve the resource utilization rate as well as reducing the power consumption.
