PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that improvement of a method and an apparatus for double cell operation is required, because the range of double cell operation is extended in the WCDMA release in the future or other wireless system, to a non-adjacent frequency or across a plurality of frequency bands, and thereby a moving procedure (e.g., measurement report) and other procedure are affected.SOLUTION: A double cell or multiple cell wireless transmission and reception unit (WTRU) configured to implement a moving (mobility) procedure is explained. The WTRU configuration implements a method for optimizing and enabling cell search and cell re-selection, measurement report and inter-frequency handover, compression mode measurement, and mobility of soft handover procedure. |
