PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a mark on a document, such as a mark-sensing sheet, at a lower cost with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A mark detecting device includes: a determination unit 79 which determines whether the number of mark discrimination results obtained by a discrimination unit 74 coincides with a prescribed number or not, on read image data in a predetermined area on a document (SS6); and a display unit 73 which displays information that the number of mark discrimination results is other than the prescribed number (SS7) when the determination unit 79 determines that the number of mark discrimination results does not coincide with the prescribed number (NO in SS6). When an instruction receiving unit 76 receives a performance change instruction for changing document read performance of a document read unit 5 from a user (YES in SS8), a change unit 80 changes the document read performance of the document read unit 5 (SS9) according to the read performance indicated by the performance change instruction. |
