PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device superior in charge-discharge characteristics and a binder composition.SOLUTION: An electrochemical device includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode forming a pair with the positive electrode. At least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode includes a plate-like current collector and an electrode layer disposed on at least one surface of the current collector. The electrode layer has an electrode active material and a binder which bonds and fixes the electrode active materials together, and the electrode active material and the current collector. The binder contains, as a constituent, (A) a polymer containing a constituent unit (a1) derived from an amide group-containing monomer in an amount of 2.0-10 mass % relative to the total constituent units and a constituent unit (a2) derived from (meth)acrylic acid in an amount of 0.3-5 mass % relative to the total constituent units. |
