A computer system comprises a mother board, a plurality of both sides memory module sockets, one or more both sides memory modules, a plurality of voltage regulator modules, and a power control device. The both sides memory module sockets are attached to the mother board. The both sides memory modules are mounted on the both sides memory module sockets. The both sides memory modules store serial presence detect information and are mounted on the both sides memory module sockets. The voltage regulator modules are mounted on the mother board; are close to the both sides memory module sockets; and supply power. The power control device receives the serial presence detect information from the both sides memory modules and controls the voltage regulator modules.
