PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of differential pressure control when producing high-pressure hydrogen by improving pressure resistance performance of a hydrogen producing cell of solid polymer type.SOLUTION: In a hydrogen producing cell 1 where an oxygen-side current collector 12 and a hydrogen-side current collector 13 are arranged on both surfaces of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 11, the oxygen-side current collector 12 is larger than the hydrogen-side current collector 13, and an edge part of the oxygen-side current collector 12 is positioned at outer side of the edge part of the hydrogen-side current collector 13 extending over the circumference, while an O-ring 22 is arranged at the outer periphery of the hydrogen-side current collector 13, and a position facing the O-ring 22 via the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 11 is inner than the edge part of the oxygen-side current collector 12. Even when positive pressure is applied to the oxygen-side current collector 12 from the hydrogen-side current collector 13 side, the oxygen-side current collector 12 receives the pressure via the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 11, so that the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 11 does not directly receive the pressure, and pressure resistance performance of the whole cell is improved, and the necessity of differential pressure control of the hydrogen-side current collector 13 side and the oxygen-side current collector 12 side is eliminated. The gas between both poles is not blended, too. |
