摘要 The present invention relates to a novel method of retrieving gas from a gas-containing subterranean formation, the method including digging a mine shaft to reach the subterranean formation; constructing a ventilated underground control center wherein the center includes a computerized control panel, wherein the computerized control panel controls the movements of a hot head device such as a plasma torch, an electro-chemical apparatus, a hydrogenating solvent or heated ceramic particles; a hollow drill pipe; a movable hydraulic shield; a movable resin roof bolting machine; and a movable waste extrusion device; providing mining personnel to the ventilated underground control center; and allowing the mining personnel to operate the computerized control panel wherein they perform the tasks of moving the hot head device into the subterranean formation, recovering the gas, and extruding waste material into a mined-out space of the subterranean formation.

A method of recovering gas from a subterranean formation comprising: digging a shaft toward the subterranean formation; constructing a ventilated underground control center, wherein the center is located within the subterranean formation; providing a computerized control panel, wherein the panel is located within the underground control center; providing a drill pipe, wherein the pipe is extendable, rotatable, and hollow, wherein the pipe has a proximal end and a distal end, and wherein the pipe is operatively connected to the ventilated underground control center at the proximal end; providing a hot head device, wherein the hot head device is operatively connected to the pipe at the distal end of the pipe; providing a power source, wherein the power source is operatively connected to the computerized control panel by power source electrical means, and wherein the power source is operatively connected to the hot head device by the drill pipe; providing a movable hydraulic shield, wherein the shield is located behind the hot head device; providing a movable resin roof bolting machine, wherein the bolting machine is located behind the movable hydraulic shield; operating the computerized control panel, wherein the power source activates the hot head device, and wherein the hot head device vaporizes the subsurface formation to obtain a gas; and recovering the gas.
