According to the present invention, each pixel of a display device including a plurality of pixels includes a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, an image display part, and a protection part. The first electrode is provided on the substrate. The second electrode is provided on the first electrode and defines a cavity in the shape of a tunnel extended in a first direction between the first electrode and the second electrode. A first insulation layer is interposed between the second electrode and the first electrode. The display part is arranged in the cavity in a tunnel shape, and displays images in accordance to electric fields formed by the first and second electrode. The protection layer covers the second electrode and encloses the cavity in the shape of a tunnel. A method to manufacture the display device includes the steps of: forming the first electrode, a sacrificial layer, and the second electrode; and forming the image display part by removing the sacrificial layer.
