The present invention relates to a multilayer ceramic electronic component and a mounting substrate thereof. Provided is the multilayer ceramic electronic component which includes a hexagonal ceramic body which includes a dielectric layer and has a length (L), a width (W), and a thickness (T) to satisfy T/W>1.0; an active layer which includes a plurality of first and second internal electrodes, which is alternatively exposed through both cross sections of the ceramic body by interposing the dielectric layer, and forms a capacity; a top cover layer which is formed on the upper side of the active layer; a bottom cover layer which is formed on the lower side of the active layer and has a thick thickness in comparison with the top cover layer; and first and second external electrodes which cover both cross section of the ceramic body. If the thickness of the bottom cover layer is Tb, 0.03<=Tb/T<=0.25 is satisfied.
