The present invention aims to provide an apparatus for moving down needles of a cylinder type knitting machine forming a bypass route towards the lower side of a jack lifting cam arranged in the lower side of the cylinder type knitting machine so as not to let lifting butts of jacks get on the jack lifting cam, thereby letting the needles and jack stay in the lower side. The apparatus for moving down needles of a cylinder type knitting machine for achieve the purpose of the present invention comprises: cylinders (10) having grooves (11) in all directions; needles (20) and jacks (30) sequentially inserted in the grooves (11) of the cylinders (10) to be lifted; lifting actuators (50) lifting the jacks (30) by selectively operating needle selecting butts (32) of the jacks (30); and a jack lifting cam (70) where the lifting butts (31) of the jacks (30) get on to move. And a straight groove-shaped bypass route (100) is formed in the lower side of the jack lifting cam (70) in the horizontal direction to be bypassed by not getting on the jack lifting cam (70) so as to stay in the lower side.
