PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new yttrium compound containing a nitrogen atom and an oxygen atom and a conjugated diene polymerization catalyst using the same, and especially to provide a polymerization catalyst capable of highly efficiently producing a conjugated diene polymer having a high content of a cis-1,4 structure.SOLUTION: There is provided a conjugated diene polymerization catalyst which comprises: an yttrium compound (A) represented by the following general formula (1); an ionic compound (B) composed of a non-coordinating anion and a cation; and an organic metal compound (C) of an element selected from Group 2, 12 and 13 elements in the periodic table. (Rand Rrepresent a hydrogen atom or a substituent having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; Rrepresents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms; O represents an oxygen atom, N represents a nitrogen atom; and Y represents an yttrium atom.)
